History

Aux Sable commenced operation on December 1, 2000 as part of the Alliance Pipeline and Aux Sable dense phase gas system. At that time, two companies were established, one in the United States, Aux Sable Liquid Products (ASLP)  and one in Canada, Aux Sable Canada (ASC) to manage the natural gas liquids business associated with the Alliance Pipeline. In 2010, a second U.S. company, Aux Sable Midstream (ASM) was established to focus on other midstream developments in the United States.

A Proven Success

Since 2000, Aux Sable has delivered outstanding safety, environmental and operating results. Aux Sable is well positioned to pursue its vision through the utilization of the Alliance liquids-rich gas transportation system, as well as growth opportunities outside of its exclusive natural gas liquids position with the Alliance system.

The Aux Sable Name

Aux Sable derived its name from the Illinois township where its NGL extraction and fractionation facility was sited in 1996. The Aux Sable Township itself was named by the original French Canadian settlers who traveled to and from the sand bar on the local creek to access water – Aux Sable means “to the sand” in French.
