Student Internship Program Big Success at Aux Sable
Aux Sable is proud to participate in the Grundy County Summer internship Program. In 2013, the organization brought in four students through the program to work at our facilities in Channahon, Illinois. Working in roles within the Information and Technology, Engineering, Legal and Accounting departments, students were matched to fields in which they had indicated a desire to pursue after high school.
Pipeline to a Quality Workforce
Aux Sable has worked closely with the Illinois State Government to play a key role in helping establish the Grundy County Summer Internship Program. The summer internship program provides a pathway to connect Grundy County businesses with a talented, future workforce. The program is a cooperative initiative led by local government and community leaders in business and education.

How the Program Works
The Grundy County Internship Program is focused on bringing value to both the student and the business. "The business commits to provide a quality work experience while the education community commits to sending pre-screened, hardworking and high performing students", says Scott Seibert, Manager Government and Public Affairs. "The junior and senior students come from the four area high schools (Coal City, Gardner-South Wilmington, Minooka and Morris) and the Grundy Area Vocational Center (GAVC)". Although not a requirement, many of these students have initiated academic preparation for their respective fields of interest prior to pursuing the internship.
Aux Sable will be participating in the program again in 2014.
